Katie + Sam married at Valley View Farm in Haydenville, Massachusetts
Katie and Sam's wedding day could not have been more perfect. On August 12th, this kind couple said "I do" at Valley View Farm in Haydenville, Massachusetts.
The weather was gorgeous. The skies were bright blue with large billowy clouds. A photographer’s dream. A light breeze kept the sunny August day from getting too hot. The lush green fields of queen anne’s lace and gardens on the farm's property made for a stunning backdrop for the ceremony and reception.
Guests arrived in the late morning, excited to celebrate Katie and Sam's special day. The ceremony took place in the early afternoon underneath a lovely floating floral arrangement. Katie looked radiant in her lace wedding gown, while Sam looked dapper in his tan linen suit. The joy on their faces was clear for all to see as they exchanged heartfelt vows, and a small group of friends and family gave readings. My favorite moment from the ceremony was when a loved one stood up to read Johnny Cash’s love letter to June Carter.
We get old and get used to each other. We think alike. We read each others minds. We know what the other wants without asking. Sometimes we irritate each other a little bit. Maybe sometimes take each other for granted.
But once in awhile, like today, I meditate on it and realize how lucky I am to share my life with the greatest woman I ever met. You still fascinate and inspire me. You influence me for the better. You’re the object of my desire, the #1 Earthly reason for my existence. I love you very much.
After being pronounced husband and wife, Katie and Sam walked back down the aisle hand-in-hand, huge smiles across their faces. The couple made their way up to the Love Nest to bask in the emotions of the day, while guests enjoyed handcrafted cocktails and an impressive grazing station on the patio.
The reception was held in the farm's beautifully modern barn, where long farmhouse tables were adorned with wild flowers beneath a sunlit disco ball.
When it came time for dinner, heartfelt toasts were given by Katie and Sam’s parents, as well as their siblings. The party continued into the evening with dancing, laughter and joy, and a very special surprise musical performance by Katie’s sister’s singing their own renditions of Lady Marmalade, with their dad on drums and one of Katie’s best friend on keys. The music for the evening was provided by T Warner, a custom music experience unlike anything I’ve ever seen at a wedding - musicians accompanying a DJ to bring energy and volume to the dance floor. It was a proper party!
Katie and Sam's dream farm wedding was straight out of a fairytale. The gorgeous sunny day and Valley View Farm's picturesque setting provided the perfect backdrop for the couple to celebrate their love. It was a wedding day they and their guests will never forget!
